Just like Bruce Springsteen, Alyssa was born in a small town...
A Day In The Life of a Highlander
It is nice to think of a small town like Highland. To think of all the activities this town has to offer. I know if I want pizza I can choose from 1 of 20 places. And if I need money to get the pizza I can go any of the thousands of banks Highland has to offer. But don’t worry if they don’t have the bank you belong to, it will be here next month. It is good to know one of the biggest attractions in this town is Dunkin Donuts. The best place built here since 1960. Probably the busiest place in town. If you’re looking for a place to go, how about mini golfing? That is about the only place for kids to go for “fun”. I enjoy knowing every single kid in my graduating class. And it is also comforting to know you’ll probably recognize their mother, father, cousins, sisters and uncle’s as well. Also, leave yourself a few extra minutes when you leave your house incase you get stopped by the horses crossing the street or if you forget that New Paltz Road is closed. Oh and good news, we got a department store a few years ago…oh wait its only Lowes. By the way don’t ever worry if your stove is on fire because all of Highland will be there in 5 minutes. 10 fire trucks, 3 ambulances, 7 town police, 4 volunteer trucks and a state trooper. All in all I can sit here and complain and so can everyone else who has lived here their whole lives but we know all these quirks give Highland the sense of home.
